The Webb Award is given to those in the Rotary Club of Wendouree, Vic., achieving distinction within the club or the wider community. The award honours the club’s charter president, the late Ken Webb, O.B.E., Paul Harris Fellow. He was an outstanding community leader, being a Rotarian for 45 years and president for the first two years of the club’s existence. Within Rotary, PP Ken came to the fore in club projects such as the building of Ewing House and, with wife Olive, opened their home for functions to raise funds for Rotary projects. PP Ken made a significant contribution to the community life of Ballarat, being a councillor for 21 years and mayor three times. He was involved in the establishment of the Webbcona Complex, the Ballarat Yacht Club and the University of Ballarat.
